I was wondering, i have a 2001 accord cf4 with a dohc vtec f20b engine. It is looks EXACTLY like a cl1 euro r tho a part from the engine so i want to fix that up some. But instead of the expense of buying an h22a i am thinkin of swapping in the complete j32 from hmotorsonline since they are about the same price for an engine that has way better specs. My question is, what are your opinions on this and how easy would it be to throw that bad boy in there? Any info is greatly appreciated

 

Its not a matter of how easy it is.. Its a matter of how good your fab skills are and how much money is in your pockets..
As far as I know the swap has only been done in V6 chassis Accords and cars such as Civics and Tegs.. Im sure its "doable" considering the smaller bay of the civic and teg but you would be one of the first to make it happen.. EVERYTHING CUSTOM.. From engine mounts to axles.. EVERYTHING..

ah i figured as much, exactly why i going for the complete swap (shifter cables, ecu, tranny, the whole 9 yards). I assume i would have to cut or adjust my engine mount and some other minor fixes to fit it but other than that it shudnt be much of a problem if the swap already comes with all the needed assemblies. I will keep you all posted as i think i might give it a shot.

On another note....a j32 cl1 euro r would be hauling ***

edit: what about the ecu? i assume i would have to chip it?

 

There is no chipping a V6 ECU. If you want to be able to tune the V6, you will require a stand alone engine management system. Like an AEM EMS, Motech or Haltech all big $$$$$

As for the swap, you will need everything from a V6 engine/chassis. Engine mounts, power steering lines, radiator & cooling lines, heating lines, transmission complete with axle shafts, intermediate shaft and wheel hubs. The list could even be longer, this is just off the top of my head.

 

Ahh definately something for the future then. But for right now it makes no sense to toss a perfectly good block with so much potential. I will resurrect this thread when the time is right.
