2004 ex civic with a d17. my second is grinding and pops out so i want to rebuild over the winter. I have searched for a while now for an entire rebuild kit but cant find anything with the synchros. Anyone have any websites that sell a kit or do i need to go straight to honda

 

if it's grinding real bad and pops out, chances are you're going to need more than just a synchro kit. if you look up the parts online from Honda, you'll get a bit of a discount rather than calling in

 

i was thinkin poss the shift fork but i dont know till i open it up. only pops out on really bumpy roads

 

Check your engine mounts. Dont use the syncros that come in the rebuild kit, there most likely garbage. If you NEED to replace syncros, use OEM honda syncros. Old OEM syncros shift the best however, i bet your syncros are fine, i rarely see them burned up. Measure the clearance from the syncro to gear, scuff the gear cones and re-use.
