Default still no heat

We have followed the instructions in the faq . We have replaced The hoses , put a new thermostat in. But it still does not heat up enough. It averages about 150f degrees.

so you do know that there are two cables that control the heater? there is one that goes to interior for the heater and one that does out to the fire wall that controls the valve for the hot coolant coming into the heater core? i would check that both of those are operational.

good luck

both work , opening and closing the shutters. if the car idles for 20 minutes it warms up a little. but it in no way heats the car up like it should.

for some reason the radiator fluid does not heat up enough that when it goes through the heater core that the heater core only heats up somewhat.

used laser thermostats to check the heat temp

shouldn't the heater blow out hot air? correct

probably going to have to retear the dash apart and check to see if the motors are running correctly on the blower doors. unless someone knows a way to check?

could it be the electrical motors ?

79350-SH2-A01 MOTOR ASSY., FRESH/RECIRCULATING

or

79140-SH2-A01 5 MOTOR ASSY., MODE

they open and close the blower gates right?

did you check the faq?

comiccon, the vent selectors are only changing where its coming out. seriously i have doubts its not that air mixture vent. and if thats really not the problem, then a flush or full replacement of the heater core is probably necessary.

i think the next step is to tear apart the whole dash again and start the car and do a thermometer on teh exposed heater core and see if its hot or not.

also going to tell them to flush the whole radiator. as the heater core was pulled and it was flushed through

looks like they are going to try and retackle the heat issue on monday. we are going to pull the dash and run the heater core and see if it heats up.

if it doesnt heat up enough. what would the issue be, as we have done everything else in the faq?

if nothing is clogged in the heater core and fluid flows through like its supposed to can the heater core still be bad?

Im hoping that the fan comes on normally and not by an aftermarket switch or hooked up direct?

well if the heat works after the dash is removed, he is thinking about forcing teh doors open and just leave it that way

I have a 98 civic that will not get warm until I get miles from home, turns out if the antifreeze is just a little low it will not warm up.

Make sure your antifreeze to water ratio is right. If there is too much water, it will take longer to get warm. Water is what cools the engine. Antifreeze just keeps your water from freezing.
