need a car seat for office chair
hey guys,
which car seats do you recommend to make a good DIY office chair? i don't want to spend an arm and a leg and i am willing to consider something used. it's just that the current foam padding in my office max chair is getting flat and causing my legs to fall asleep and my butt to hurt when sitting for a long time. I have been looking at bride, recaro and sparco. i know they are designed to hold u in when you drive but how about ergonomics? is there any OEM car seat that can be a good alternative to these expensive aftermarket ones?
Thanks

i don't imagine the racing bucket seats would be too comfortable as a desk chair. the good ones hold you a little too tightly.. i'm working on getting a 1990 civic seat that i had laying around fitted to a swivel base. if i were in the market to buy something for that purpose i would be looking at nice leather-interior'ed sports cars (or cars with sporty intentions) without power adjustments. the best thing to do is to search the salvage yards until you see something you like.

I'd think any seat without massive bolsters would work acceptably, but something reclining might make more sense, at least so you can adjust it to your desired angle. A stock Recaro from an Audi S4 would be pretty awesome, in my opinion.
Going for this look in the office?

If your looking for a comfy chair, my '98 Chevy Blazer has some pretty comfortable seats.
It would be pretty bad *** if you wired up the lumber support to be functional in an office chair lol.
