Default New build for me B20vtec

ok ive had my car for 2 years 1990 crx si when i bought it it came already swapped with a b16a. drove the car for 2 months and got tired of it burning a qt a day so i bit the bullet and built me a fresh b16b not knowing that i had no clue about b20vtec or even lsvtec till after i finished. my 1.6 is fast and impresses the hell outa me and most ppl but it lacks mid and low.

My build isnt gonna be extreme im just wanting somthing fast and reliable its gonna be slow progress. i was always told cheap, fast and reliable u can only have 2

forgive me for the big pics and shitty ones

the stuff i have now

b20b block
b20 rods with arp
b16b cams
supertech valvsprings
oem type r retaners
blox intake manifold
tri y header
ectune paired with the moates demon

stuff i need to aquire

rs machine pistons 11.5.1
acl engine berings
all seals and nessesary gaskets
and the lsvtec conversion kit
arp head studs

here's what it looked like when i first got

then after the fresh b16b swap

then john deere blitz black paint job

and the b20 rods on arp

then the block b20b checked deck and everythings well within spec

Well when I dynod the b16b it had pro 1 cams and couldnr find the sweet spot and only made 140whp and 117wtq so I traded my cams for oem ctr and I make 177 at the wheel and but the ignition wasn't touched so I'm sure there is more power to be had.

96+ all had the same oil pump. I know this cause i just sourced this info for a build im doing for a friend.

OP sounds like itll be a great little setup.

Then why would ITR/GSR oil pumps need to be modded to fit b16 blocks?

you might be confusing the timing covers. if you put a obd2 pump on an obd0 or 1 b16 the covers have to modded to fit due to the crank sensor.

96+ all b series oil pumps are the same.

Did this build years ago, I used a GSR oil pump, worked out just fine in an 88HF, I was worried about understeer but Skunkworks coilovers took care of it. Miss that beast, looks a lot like yours. Good luck!
