ok i have a 89 civic dx its dpfi d15b non-vtec. when i start it when its cold the check engine light kicks on and its runs like ****. after it warms up a little bit the light turns off and it runs fine. any ideas?

 

What code is it?

I believe that under the carpet, under the glove box, by where the passengers feet would be, is the ECU, near the firewall. On that ECU is a little red light, and that's how you check the codes. It will blink and you have to count it. However i'm not sure if you have to jump something, or if it will just blink when you have a DTC.

Yep. I had a similar situation in my VW. I just unplugged the sensor and was drivable, were it was not when the sensor was plugged in. Gas mileage was crap, and it was rather rich, but it was drivable.

 

ok thanks for the help...im just gonna replace the sensor

 

replaced o2 sensor....now its throwing code 10....how do i change this?
