vafc1 HELP ASAP
Ok guys i got my itr tuned because i hv quite a few bolt ons that could use some tuning. now i need to retune it again, and i will be using a wideband.
reading and searching, i have read this ""When looking at the map, the vertical dotted line represents the VTEC engagement point. Fuel settings to the left side of the dotted line for Hi cam, and right side of the dotted line for the Lo cam, will have no effect on fuel correction. During tuning, the Wide Throttle map should be set first and then the Narrow Throttle map..'
does this mean that the highcam comes in use before the low cam? i always thought high cam was after vtec?
also i heard that all i need to retune is my wide thr, because the narr thr is partial throttle and the ecu will try to reset everything bak for a excellent a/f rato so is pointless doing the narr thr. in other words just tune the wide thr, and leave the narr lvt and hvt at 0 or equal like the wide thr.
im i in the right page here?

hi cam is vtec,
you need a wideband in order to use a vafc correctly.
the vtec engagement can be changed, if that's one of the ones that does correction you don't need it provided you actually used the wideband when you set the hi/lo cam fuel curve
tune open loop to 12:5-1 and closed around 14:1 with blips to 15, as long as it's going to 12:5 when you're at WOT that's not bad.
this is kind of an ancient way to tune that's somewhat inaccurate since it uses map signal.
you also can't adjust timing
an s100 is only 199

take it out, sell it and don't drive the car until you tune it
seriously, more engine damage happens because of untuned ecus than any other cause i can think of
if you're ready to go on crome, just use that and get the timing and a/f correct. being too rich when you break the engine in can create ring wash and not allow them to seat properly
if it's an old engine that isn't a problem but it's still a bad idea
