FS 1992 Prelude Si JDM H22a and extras
SOLD
12/03 $1500 1992 Prelude Si JDM H22a and extras w 227k miles
The time's been long overdue for me. I've just purchased an old BMW E28 and there's just no more space to hang on to this. Here's the run down...
The short...
- Clean Title in hand
- Does not start (Fuel issue, I'm suspecting the fuel pump) needs basic maintenance items and possibly a paint job.
- Motor and transmission were swapped and upgraded.
- I have a recent copy of the Autocheck report (similiar to a Carfax report)
- Car is not currently registered or inspected
The long...
Up for sale is my 1992 Honda Prelude Si. The motor and transmission were swapped in Nov 2004. It was upgraded to a JDM H22a VTEC motor (200hp) It's been sitting in my parents driveway for about 4 years and definitely needs some attention.
I moved to Seattle for a short time in 05 and left the car on my parents driveway where it sat since. The elements have done a number to the car and can be seen in the faded paint and rust in the rear passenger fender.
The Good:
JDM H22A motor swap sourced from HMotorsOnline.com (200hp with about 100k currently on the motor)
P13 ECU
JDM 5-speed Transmission
Exedy Organic Clutch
Adjustable 4bidden short shifter (I believe these are now fairly rare)
New rear tires (unmounted). Front tires still have alot of tread.
Comes with a Brullen aftermarket cat back exhaust (needs to be installed)
Comes with an extra catalytic converter (needs to be installed)
NGK sparkplugs and wires
Power windows and sunroof are fully functional
Recent oil and filter change.
Main Fuel Relay replaced along with the battery 4 months ago.
The motor was swapped from an H23 (160hp) to an JDM H22a (200hp) motor in 2004. The swap was done by a mechanic friend (works for BMW Annapolis). During the swap the timing belt, tensioner, water pump and seals were redone. Along with the installation of the 5 speed JDM transmission and upgraded the clutch to an Exedy Organic. The car definitely moves and easily keeps up with my E46 330ci.
All of the work needed to be done to the car outside of the paint, is basic (shocks, brakes, hood, probably a fuel pump and exhaust needs to be bolted on) I have neither the time nor the desire to throw more money at it.
The Bad:
Small windshield rock crack (Has been treated and has not spread for over 5 years)
AC compressor needs to be replaced. The AC clutch does not move. Could be just that but not sure.
Fog lights are not functioning.
Rust in the rear right fender.
Side mirrors need to be repainted.
Blaupunkt radio works, CD player does not.
Suspension needs to be refreshed (bushings and shocks)
Exhaust needs to be installed.
The car has been involved in two minor accidents.
1) One prior to my ownership. Autocheck reports the right side door was replaced. I never knew about this nor noticed it in all the years I've owned the car. Everything on the passenger door functions and the paint matches the rest of the car.
2) Another accident that does not show on the Autocheck report. I was rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me at a stop light (probably a 10mph collision) Cosmetic damage. The front bumper and front tip of the hood are dented slightly and the rear bumper cover edges are pressed against the rear quarter panels (See pics) No frame damage. Only the front hood and bumper cover were slightly bent. Recently the hood won't close properly. I'm hoping to fix that shortly.
I also have a set of reconditioned front and rear leather seats that are extra. If the car doesn't sell within the week, I'll most likely fix the fuel pump.
Since I don't post on this board much here's my feedback on the two boards I'm mostly on

Thanks man. Looks like we also got Nikon cameras in common as well. My Nikon bodies are ancient (D70 and D70s) and a bunch of other Nikon gear.
