Ok the bar broke on leave, causing a nice clunking noise and scary to drive handling.
I parked it, now im back in Iraq. My dad is pulling strings for my cr-x while
im here till i make it home, he is going to have it welded, my question is, will
a good weld hold, or is it going to have to be replaced all togather. It snapped
Where it mounts on the driver side. I believe this is an Avid TB but cannot verify
It was a previous owner mod.

Any help is appreciated, i really need this car driveable when i come home.

 

a weld can acutally be stronger then the metal. have your dad look for stress cracks. and inspect the hole bar. the down side to welding it is if it not welded correctly it could bend and warp the metal. if you have the extra money get the full race one. about 350 bucks

The weld will hold but if its not primered and painted it will rot out faster depending on climate. I 2nd's the idea of a new aftermarket one if you do have the extra money laying around. I think you can find them cheaper too!
