Bottom end rattle?
I have a Crx hf 88. It has a knock if I don't let it warm up before I drive it. Now after I start it and it's cold it has a bottom end rattle. It's all in cylinder 3. I know it's bs and there is no additive to fix it. It's the engine. But how much time do I have till it goes. It's my dd I drive it nice. I need it to last 3 months. P.s. The previous owner beat the car not me.
Your guess is as good as any of ours. It sounds like you are on borrowed time. you might check out hmotorsonline.com for the price of a sohc zc. for like $500, its a pretty damn good deal and will give you piece of mind that when that engine goes, you have a backup ready to go in.
that's one idea. another is to pay attention to your local salvage yard and try to pick up a d-series engine on the cheap.
3 months is a long time to go for in the winter for an engine that sounds like it is in bad shape. good luck though.
