Post H22a swap quote

I contacted a local "Honda-Acura specialist," and asked him about an F23 auto- to- 5speed swap (just the transmission). He told me an H22a 5 speed swap including OBD1 would be easier to find all the parts for, and would offer more performance. Wouldn't an F23 just be more straight forward, and less risk of complications?
Pro's & Cons to OBD1??

He quoted me $4000 via email for the H22a 5 speed swap. *Keep in mind I'm in Southern California. Does this quote sound reasonable to you guys? What have others quoted you for this swap? Personally, I was expecting less than that, but maybe I'm naive.

Yeah, I was thinking between $2,500 - $3000. I don't even know if its worth haggling with the guy.
