im doing a mpfi conversion for my buddy
its a 91 civic std

he is tight on money right now and cant get an si distributor weve been to 3 different junkyard and havnt found one either

so my question is can i just use the dpfi distributor for the time being until he gets the money for one

i kno it will throw codes but will it even run and if it will will it run okay?

no dpfi dizzy will not work, u need an mpfi dizzy.

 

yea hes right you need a td-18u or td-02u distributor.

you cannot use the dpfi distributor because the mpfi one has other sensors in it that are not in the dual port one. such as top dead center cylinder sensor I believe and the cam position sensor. they go for 100 bucks on ebay brand new. Or 160 from advance

I have one that will work and will run. but i believe it threw a code 8 for TDC sensor. The car ran fine with it and will not put you in limp mode or anything. If would be sufficient until your friend got the money for a new one. PM me if ur interested id give it to you a good deal
