ek starting problem

ok so my boy got a 96 civic lx i think.. all stock... the problem is it cranks but wont start without pushing the gas pedal... what could that be

How does it run once started? Any CEL codes?

he said it runs fine.. and said "maf" with the cel, but i looked it up.. and there is no maf for his car... so i dunno

Post the specific CEL code. (Sounds like a low idle problem, so maybe it will be code 14 for the IACV?)
