d15b2 install
I just rebuilt my d15b2 and put it back in. I got the engine started. When I went to back it out, I would push in the clutch (I heard the gears shifting) and the car would not back up. I would be in gear and let off the clutch and the gas and the car would not stall. I would put the car in 4th gear and the spedo would go up to 20 miles per hour. So I shut it off. I went to the bottom of the car and I noticed that the cv joint fell off and the axel was not in the transmission. But the passenger side axel was in. Would the drivers axel not make me move? Would the passenger axel spin and let me move. Or is there something else wrong why it is not moving? I ordered a whole new axel and waiting for it to come in the parts store. I just wanted to find out before I started working on it again.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
How did it just fall out? Sounds like it was not installed correctly.
Having a broken/missing axle will cause your car to not move if you have an open diff. All the torque is applied to the wheel with the least resistance. Since there is no axle in the drivers side of the trans is free to spin which leaves no power applied to the other(passenger) side.
Replace the axle and you should be good to go.
