Default Strange Trans noise y7

I have a y7 trans in the car i just picked up its making some weird noises maybe some one can help me out here. When the car is in 1 2 3 and the clutch is NOT pushed in it makes a weird noise like a low rumbling/grinding it doesnt do it in 4 or 5 and stops when i press the clutch. It goes into gear smooth and what not. Someone mentioned a pilot bearing to me but i am not sure. Most likely ill just be on the lookout for a replacement but if its something simple ill just fix it. Help meeeee

One of the 5 bearings in the tranny is bad. (you'll usually see people say input or mainshaft bearing, but really theres 5 bearings in there it could be) If the tranny otherwise works well, shifts good etc you may just want to pull it apart and replace whatever bearings are bad. These transmissions are old enough now that a lot of them have this problem.
