Hey guys Im havin an issue that has sprang up in literally the last 24 hrs. Ive noticed my car was starting to missfire just a litle bit when I would be stopped at a light or in neutral or park. It has gradually gotten worse in like the last day and im tryin to get an idea on where to start before i freeze to death working on it in the cold.

It only missfires intermittenly and it does not do it once i hit the gas and im driving in normal conditions. I did replace the plugs and wires two months ago so im not sure where i can go next, could it maybebe the spark plug gap? or a rotor? again its only one cylinder dropping off every now and then. please help me out thankyou

 

Any CEL codes? Are the plugs fouled? Start by inspecting/replacing the distributor cap and rotor.

 

no codes, and i dont think the plugs are fouled i just replaced them. i might start with the cap then

 

up, tonight i changed the plugs out and im still getting a missfire. Its also popping out the back pretty decently to. I have to add coolant about every two weeks as i know the head gasket is takin a **** on me, that wouldnt cause it to stumble like that would it? When i check the plugs the middle two looked kinda rusty around the threads like maybe coolant is fouling them out. There is not any coolant in the oil or oil in coolant though.

i hooked up a timing light to each wire as a half *** way to check for spark and every wire is sparking correctly. Im stumped

 

The blown head gasket is likely causing low compression or spark plug fouling in the two cylinders. This is likely the problem. Compression test the cylinders.

 

I did and had about 115 in each...

 

ok i asked around and have goten a bunch of different answers from friends and what not so im back here. Im beginning to think maybe a bad injector could be the culprit. i put in some stp injector cleaner and it seemed to help (a bit) I drove to my friends house yesterday and it performed great the whole way there, then when i started it up in the freezing cold it was on three cylinders again.

I would think if the headgasket was bad it would run like crap all the time. When your driving down the street sometimes you can feel it stumble and sometimes not. It seems like the longer it idles the more it falls on its ***. I made a video of what seems like a possible backfire instead of a miss. I just replaced the exhaust so it hides it pretty well but you can still here it,
