kind of a long shot but i recently picked up a type r head for my b20 build and im not for sure what retainers and springs that were in the head. im going to have the springs tested to make sure there usable but not even sure what the specs would be on the springs? head was supposedly from one of the ILLgarage cars from a few years ago but i couldnt confirm that. had ferrea swirl polished intake valves and standard ferrea exhaust valves. both intake and exhaust has dual springs. neither the retainer or the spring have anything on them noting what brand they are. thanks for any and all help. jim.

 

In my opinion they look like Skunk2's, but then again, the retainers look slightly different... I'm wondering myself how to check valvespring specs.

well i found a few good pics of skunk2 ret. and they look right on with what i have. any one have any specs on the sk2 springs i can give to the machine shop to have them test my springs? want to make sure there safe to run with NON oem cams. dont want to spend money on springs if i dont need to.
