Default Installing a stock radio (94 Civic hatch)

My cd player was stolen about 2 years ago, and I've been content with a huge hole in my dash (probably a good theft deterrent.) I recentl got a stock radio/cassette player for cheap, and had a couple questions about installing it.

Is a dash kit necessary for the stock radio? I thought those kits were only for adapting aftermarket systems.

Does the stock radio install with screws on the back? I assume I'll need to pull some of the lower dash off. If it screws in securely, I assume this would make it harder to steal (also hoping a cheesy-looking cassette player isn't an enticing target.)

It'd be nice to be able to listen to the radio again, without worrying about increasing my risk of break-in.

as long as the wiring harness wasnt cut it will plug right into the oem harness. As far as I know they should just snap in place

Theres a single screw in the back that keeps them securely in place, if you're worried about theft i'd leave the screw out and make it easy for a thief to remove, because if its not easy to take they'll just destroy the dash to remove it. Can't see anyone stealing a stock tape deck for a '94 civic at this point in time though.

my stock cassette player in my coupe had 2 screws go in the radio through the bottom near the back of the radio, had to remove the cig lighter and ashtray piece to get to them

if aftermarket radios permit, you may be able to rescrew the new radio with some allen head screws or somthin
