Guys.. My R is sold, but I have a question (Head stamp)
Hey guys... I recently purchased a used head and have a question for you (especially any 1998 owners).
The head I bought has the cast numbers on the front... there are 4 "circles" of #'s obviously... they are...
98 something something 90
Is this head a 1998, or a 1990? I believe it's a 1998. And the stamp on the right is a PR3-2. I can't really get my eyes in close enough to see if there are inner valvesprings on the exhaust side.
Does this sound like a JDM/USDM Type-R head? BTW, the large coolant outlet is on the REAR of the head.. not front.. any help is appreciated.

I *know* the year is for certain by the stamp on the head... but is the year on the far left... or far right of the 4 sets of numbers? It's like...
9/8 0/6 1/1 9/0
^^ ^^
1998 or 1990?
9/8 0/6 1/1 9/0

1998 or 1990?
Actually.. now that I think of it, sometimes the year of the stamp indicates a year BEFORE the actual year of the car... I think I'm willing to put money on it that I have a '99 Si head here (which will be for sale soon) complete.
