Default help crx owners

I have an 89 CRX Si with the origional D16A6. Im having an intermittent no crank no start problem. I did some inspecting and found my ground wire from battery to chassis looks tampered with ( its been replaced by some sort of thick speaker wire, maybe 4 gauge) Anyways, I noticed my negative battery cable goes directly from my battery , to the transmission, it does not ground on the chassis. Is this supposed to be like this or is my (-) terminal supposed to ground to the chassis directly like newer civics do?

ground the battery to the chassis, ground the transmission to the chassis and that should take care of your problem

Going to do that today, thanks for the response.

So it is supposed to be grounded directly to the chassis... hmmmm... the previous owner of my car was a knucklehead lol

Lots of these cars have been hacked up by people who knew just enough to be dangerous.
