Timing/TDC? 91' CB7 (bet you can't figure it out)
So, I searched and searched, and only found bits and pieces of the total information I need. I have a 91 accord lx 5 speed f22a1 and I would like to know EXACTLY how to set it to TDC (without having to ask multiple times if i did anything wrong) so I can set the timing. Now once this is done, it gets very difficult (and here's why): The crankshaft bolt hole is stripped out, and the pully/harmonic balancer is welded onto the crankshaft. how do I get around this problem without fab, or cutting it off to set the timing? hell, if you can tell me another way to set the timing that would be great too. I couldn't solve this problem on my own, so I figured that I would get a group collab going on this. Thank you for your input, please be respectful, no haters please.
P.S.- i'm not asking for an easy answer, i have all of the time in the world.

The problem you have is tha that you are going to have trouble removing the lower timing cover so you can look at the crankshaft sprocket marker since the pulley is welded in place.
To look at the timing mark on the crank sprocket you NEED to remove the crank pulley.
Buy a new engine.

remove cyl 1 spark plug, then put a long screw driver in the spark plug hole. now rotate the crank until the screw driver is its highest point of travel. just keep your hand the screwdriver so that it doesnt bind up in the cyl. if its 5speed there is an inspection plug on the front topside of the bellhousing, pull the plug out and you will see the flywheel. their should be a tdc mark on the flywheel.

First, you didn't specify which cylinder you're looking TDC for. I assume it's number 1. Second, take off the valve cover and look for the arrow that points up on the cam sprocket. When it's TDC cylinder one, the arrow will be pointing up and counting down from the arrow to either side top of timing cover, it's 10 teeth on either side.
What are you setting the ignition timing or crank timing? Big difference. But for some people to set the ignition timing they will say look at the crank sprocket which is not necessary. So are you setting ignition timing or doing a timing or balancer belt? Assuming its ignition timing
.........not to be mean....but you can grab a manual....autozone offers online repair informations.....about the only good thing.....lol.....or simply search the Q&A section for such information
thanks guys. all i'm trying to do here was to figure out a way to set the timing with the huge prob. of the harmonic balancer being welded onto the crankshaft... just trying to get the vehicle running again. there are no other probs with the car, i just can time it to get it to start.
