Default b18c1

i just got a gsr block off cregslist, for a 100 bucks it a complete running block nothing wrong with it at all, secondly is i got a b20 head to for 20, it all torn apart, i got some cams, ect for it,

my question is
the gsr block is a obd1 block
and my b20 head is a obd2,
what harness would i need, to run the gsr block, and the b20 head?
any input would help

thank's guy's

obd is not a reference to the year for the head or block exclusively. you can run either harness as long as you run the corresponding distributor and pcm.
you will have to drill the head out to accept the larger dowels though. or just buy stepped dowels from GE.
if it's the p8r head, be sure that you have adequate piston to valve clearance

With the money you saved by going off craigslist, I really hope you decide to freshen both the block and the head up a bit.

I mean, cheap is ok, but $120 for a b20vtec basically, is downright crackhead. Not to mention, a bit shady to me.

You use a b series hydro shift linkage. Buying a gsr head is the best option IMO. a gsr with a b20 head is straight up Lame.

You need to find someone in your area that knows what they are doing, and make them your friend

If your mind is really set on the gsr block with the b20 head there is a guy that did a b16 non-vtec thread on here you should search for it. It could be quick its just easier to make hp with a vtec head

It wasn't obvious at all, pretty pathetic that some of you people feel personally obligated to correct people's spelling and grammer and take away from the thread topic.

Dude if I was you before I built anything on that block I'd make sure it was legit with a reciept from the person you bought it from or anything you do is going to be a waste when dot police pull you over. Depending on the year of the block 94-96 dnt have vin numbers but can still be tracked by the number under the b18c1 numbers an 97-01 have a green vin tag at the bottom front of the block behind the exhaust manifold you can always call your local p.d. An have it ran they will most likely want you to take it in an they will run it but if it is stolen you won't be leaving with it..

On that note the whole b20 head on a Gsr block is a garbage idea the b20 head isn't all that good you best bet wold be to get a Gsr or b16 head with vtec. A Gsr with a b16 head is often refered to as a poor man type R witch the specs are really close an The trannsmission you would need is outa any integra 94 an up ls,rs,gs,Gsr. Or outa of 99-00 si civic or any b16 delsol If you dnt want vtec you should get a b20 block or ls swap it would be better the Gsr block is ment for vtec it'll take more effort to make it non vtec than to get the proper stuff to build it back to oem specs. You also don't need to get it sleeved unless you are seriously building it for high horsepower turbo or somthing in witch you would most deffinently want a Gsr head or b16 head.

Also your car is most likely obd1 so you should get a obd1 vtec harness an dizzy an injectors an you should be set obd1 runs from 94-96 an obd2 runs from 97-01.

Try google itll help answer alot of your questions if your new to all this. Hope I helped in any way.

i sold the b20 head for a 100.00, on cl
when i only payed (20 bucks for it)

i seen a nice gsr head complete with manifold and dizzy for 300.00
i got 250.00 saved up, so most def am getting a gsr one, a friend also gave me ram-horns for a turbo setup, and yes i also plan to sleeve the block, and bore it out to 2.0

am just gonna build the motor up, and make a old fashion sleeper
and i not sure about all those people that have seen my post's saying i ****ed up my engine wirein harness, i brought a wire tuck harness, they are expensive as ****
