I get about a 2K idle when cold and I do have that constant whine in my 06, I was going to ask if the whine was normal.

I owned lx and ex 1.8's but never had a 2.0 before, I don't think this will be my last si, next one will be new.

Since I asked one noobie question mind as well ask my other one. Whats a good rpm shift point? I am use to b series. I shift at 3 everytime. Is that a good point? And how much abuse can the k's take? I have hit vtec 4 times since I owned it. And way is 6th gear so short I sit at 65mph at like 2,900rpms!

shifting points are extremely opinionated but you will find that 3K for 1-5 is almost too low. 2.9K rpms @ 65 mph seems about right.

Better pick up one soon because it's looking like the '11s are the last of the Si's.

I didn't know that, I was going to buy a 10 but I couldn't get a break on one, and this 06 came along for less than half the price.

I was going to wait for the 12 car hoping for a bigger engine and leather seats, but I can do the seats on this one and add some power if I need it.

You have nothing to worry about... just keep on the maintenance schedule...

Shift point depends on your powerband. If you are stock or have just an intake, then I would shift a little higher than 3k, maybe 3300-3500 if you're trying to save gas and baby it. If you have more mods and flashpro and what not, i don't know what to tell you. Also, I'm not sure what u mean by how much abuse a k can take, but I wouldn't take any car's engine past redline. Also, you should shift these trannys properly because they are known to break down with people not knowing how to shift or mis-shifting, etc. 6th gear being short is normal because hondas don't have torque to be going 65mph at 2000rpm.
