Default Need help on buying some cams

I have a 2005 rsx type-s with an injen cold air intake, dc race headers and a 2.5'' exhaust. Are there any cams I can buy where i don't need to upgrade the springs or any other engine components?

what are your goals? the stock cams in the k20z1 motor are dam near the specs of the type-r cams. Any cam you go to will just move the hp up in the rev range and pull away from the lower rpm's. Good if you are only running on cam on a road course, not so good in dd driving. As for what to get....The only compeny that I have not seen any bad stuff about is blueprint cams but last time I looked, there was a huge wait for those and the owner has been known to loose orders and alike.........do not get junk2 cams imo....they seem to like to brake/jump timing cains and that bends valves.......what ever you get, i strongly sugest you get a new timing chain and tensioner. High lift cams put a lot of load on timming chains.

If you get a high lift cam, get the upgraded valve springs and some upgraded retainers.

It is recommended that you get valve springs/retainers/seats/etc. if you upgrade to stage2 and above. Shoot, if you want, you can run stage2 and beyond w/o any of the upgrades, but that really won't be a smart choice. Like what musty said, cams in z1 motor is very potent and more than enough for DD. Shoot if you really want cams, I got a BNIB Kelford stage2 cams ready to ship. Check out the November for sale thread under my user ID.

Drag Cartel drop in cams. No valvetrain needed.
