thinking about trading for an 05 EP3
I have a 95 4 door integra gsr with 166k miles, still running strong and was thinking about trading for a 05 civic si hatch with 80k miles. my buddy lost his job and doesnt wanna make payments on it, so all i gotta do is take over the payments( or buy it from his bank, he owes $6,500) and he gets my integra. both clean titles and i was looking for a newer car. the integra was originally dark green but now painted type r black.
integra is lowered, rims, with 98 front and rear conversion, basic bolt ons (intake, apexi worldsport exhaust, dc header)
the si is lowered and thats about it
my plans if i do get the si is just to turbo it for a daily driver so nothing dramatic.
my question is, do u guys think this is a good trade?

Let's walk through this: First, do you want to own an EP3? If not, even if the numbers work, you're going to end up regretting the deal and resenting you friend to boot.
But let's assume you want his EP3. If so, go on-line and see what the book value is. Kelley Blue Book, NADA, cars.com, autotrader.com, etc. will each give you price estimates for an '05 EP3 with 80K miles -- wholesale, trade-in and private sale -- based on the condition of his car. Condition of the car is crucial. You can try to do the same for your car, but because of its age and mileage, you're not likely to find it listed in any of the major used-car listings.
Also (sorry about this) I think you're going to have a very hard time getting $3-4k for a repainted, modified 4-door GS-R with 166K miles, unless you know someone who wants that very car with your modifications or you hold a gun to the buyer's head. Assume it's worth half that.
From there, it's straight math: Private sale value of an '05 EP3 (in "good" condition? "excellent" condition?) minus, say, $2k for your car.

around washington, 04-05 Si hatches run about 9,000-11,000(the ones ive seen posted on craigslist and autotrader). His Si is in great condition. i figured i probably wont get more than 3,500 at most for my integra. thats why i even considered it

I live in Seattle and I would say that is the "what they post to see if you buy" price. I just seen one the other day for 6700 around Portland area. Just sell your car and buy your friend's car for 6500. (Which is a good deal for an 05 with low miles, just not along with your car). And, since you are around the Seattle area, you should check out our little ep crew.
On a side note, this guy is selling his ep for 11k. It's not on craiglist anymore but if you're interested I will tell him for you.
It's all authentic mugen parts and lots of other goodies.

Not a good trade at all!!! Sell yours first, buy a similar car for around $6.5 to 7k and use the money from your car to get a motor swap. GL!!!
