Default slight variation on simple swap

I'm finally caving in and doing a mpfi swap on my hatch. Is there any benefit to which intake manifold i use? I was going to get an a6 since it is obd0 like my car. I was also going to swap in an a6 cam but read that my auto tranny d15b cam might be more aggressive on the exhaust side than a si speed a6 cam. I also had a little trouble finding which ecu would suit my auto trans setup. thanks in advance.

get an automatic ps9 ecu or a ef si ecu doesnt matter, with the 5 speed ecu your cel will be on but it will still drive fine, also it doesnt matter what intake manifold you use a z6 manifold is what i have on my car i like it because you can delete the charcoal canister and pointless vaccum lines

The Y8 manifold is the best flowing of the D-series. Z6 and A6 manifolds are quite similar in flow, so you would see negligible difference between the 2, and the A6 would be less of a pain. The y8 was a total redesign to get the max flow possible.

Second, the d15 to a6 cam swap will need an adjustable cam gear to adjust for the change in deck height between the 2 engines. The d16 deck height is a little higher than the d15, so Honda changed the location of the keyway location between the 2 cams a couple degrees. It's like 4 or 6 degrees. This has to be adjusted out to run the A6 cam. You should go with the A6 cam though, I consider it better in all aspects. Just make sure you get a cam gear with 4 or more adjusting bolts. There are old horror stories about the "less than 3 bolt" cam gears slipping.

As for the auto trans lockup CEL, you can defeat it with a simple resistor from radio shack if you are running a manual ECU. it is probably in the faq somewhere.

good luck..
