car keeps dying/blowing the acg (s) fuse
ok my gf has a 97 integra ls that is auto, and the radio never worked and the clock is verry dim. i was drivivng to tocobell and the car just died in the drive through. when checked the under dash fuse box the 15 amp acg (s) fuse was blown,so i put a new fuse in and when i turned the key to the on posisiton and heard the fuse pop/blow so i did this many times.then i said screw it and but i 30amp fuse in it, then it started and made it home .luckley it didnt catch on fire, like my last car!! but when i got home i put a 15amp back in and it started right up. the next day it happined again so i put a 30 amp in again but it kept blowing it when i turned the key on. i looked up the wiring chart and that fuse runs the ignition switch and fuell pump . has any one else ever had this problem??? could it be a bad fuel pump ? i checked for shorts but every thing looks good from the fuse pannel to the ignition switch and all wirs going to the fuel pump. and why would my clock be dim and radio not work if it has noting to do with this?? please help!!!
Your right, your lucky you did not burn the car to the ground, replacing a 15A fuse with a 30A is a good way to torch the car, even more so when there is obviously a short someplace.
I will assume you are talking about fuse 24 -15A, it is control power for the injector relay, [one side of relays coil] and main power input for the fuel pump relay, [fuel pump power].
To see if it is the fuel pump, depin the yellow/green lead from the PGM-FI Main Relay plug, connect a jumper lead with 15A fuse and connect the 12V+ constant free pin on the under dash fuse box, if that fuse blows check the wiring, [yellow/green] all the way to the fuel pump, if good replace the fuel pump. 94

well as far as the radio goes try the blower motor relay in the interior fuse box replace it whether its bad or good just repalce it i had the same prob wit my integra when i first got it just replace that and my radio and clock and interior lights started working but the one i had was fine but i still replaced it and it worked just try it let me no if that fixes the radio prob as far as the not starting thing goes well i would do wat he said just check all the wires that sounds like a short to grond problem but cant be one hundred percent hope this helps
