I was thinking of getting one, cause im gonna take off my manifold to put in my rear mount so i thought id "kill two birds with one stone" lol but i wanna know if its worth the $50? Do you feel any diffrence at all? and if not what would be better spend $50 on?
The hondata gaskets are awesome and they do a great job if keeping some of the heat from the head away from the IM, I used the hondata gasket on my oldr srt-4 and noticed a pretty good reduction in my IAT's
Thermal Shield Intake Manifold Gasket
The G.E gasket will give you around 4hp more.
They are reusable also.
Gaskets will reduce heat soak between your intake manifold and your head.
-Made from virgin sheet material with high heat deflection.
-Max operating temperature 500°F/260°C

yeah i heard cheap knockoff ones can melt, so i dont wanna have to deal with that.... have you tried any off ebay? if so which one?
i got a couple of them off ebay....put a few drops of super glue on it in random places and stuck it to my head....took the dremel and matched it to the ported out head. plastic melts at a much higher temperature then your head will get.
any actual gain you initially get will be partially from the fuel injector being moved back a bit. Stock location is for emission reasons but spacing it even a little further back is better for power.
the other gain will be from reducing IAT which will have more or less effect depending on conditions and your setup.

Hm, I didn't think about spacing the injector further back for more power. Makes sense, though. As for the OPs question, yea they work. I had an eBay one on a b18a, and the small amount of power is noticeable. Throttle response seemed to go up a bit, prob from the reduced air temps, and also from better fuel atomization. With a thicker gasket, the fuel being sprayed out of the injector has more space to spread out and combine with the air before going into the combustion chamber...
I forgot what brand I bought on eBay, but I think I paid around 35 total, and I'd say it was worth it
