Main Relay Description?
I think I need a new Main Relay. My car intermittenly will turn over, but will not start.
What is the location of this main relay?
I called my local parts place and they say they only show a Miscelaneous Relay for my car...is this more than likely the same thing?
Thanks,
-CaN
There are relays in the underhood fuse box....I think there is I main relay in there but I'm probably wrong...there's a headlight, dimmer and another one I think...
MOst Hondas use a Mitsumi Main Relay. It is not in the Fuse panels on Civic/CRXs and I will assume the same for Preludes as it is much too large. Where is it-You will probably find it near the underdash fuse panel (my Helm for 5th gen is not handy).
Why not go to your local Honda dealer and ask the Parts Dept. to print out the page with the picture of it and while there you can get a new one. They retail for $40-$60 depending on the discount you get, if any. If you have a contact at a shop that does business there, you should be able to get something off the price.
Another possible cause of your problem-depending on age of car-could be the ignitor or cap and rotor.
Good luck
