NEED WIRING HELP!!! Obd0-obd1 ef
I swapped a d16z6 into a 88 civic that is dual point. I have been following a do it your self page that explains all the wiring, however right at the end it is really unclear about wiring the z6 harness into the main plugs. here is a link to the write up. http://www.angelfire.com/d20/hcivic8...nginecomp.html
This is the most popular artical about this on google, So I figured people must have used this write up before, I just don't know what I'm not getting.
We have looked all over the internet, and at wiring diagrams and is not clear what steps are next!

you should only be using the z6 harness for parts. all you need is the four injector plugs, the dizzy plugs, the vtec solenoid and pressure switch plugs,o2 sensor plug, and a obd-0 to obd-1 conversion harness and a p28 ecu to do the swap. then use your original dual point harness and repin the neccesary wires at the ecu, run the wires for the new injectors, add the dizzy plugs, swap tps sensor outside wires, install conversion harness, install o2 plugs, extend a few plugs like the iacv plug, tps and maybe extend your fan switch wires and thats about it. there are numerous in depth writeups for a multiport conversion and none of them say to use the z6 harness that i know of. it is way easier to use the dual point and convert it over.

I still don't understand why people don't use a conversion harness for this kind of thing:
ECU Jumper Harness - OBD0 DPFI to OBD1
ECU Jumper Harness - OBD0 DPFI to OBD1

like everyone else said, you have to convert the plugs on the DX harness. Its easy and straight forward. look up DPFI to MPFI.

EDIT: HAMOTORSPORTS beat me to it.
im jus tryn to help someone out that doesnt have much tech knowledge for less than rywires high ridiculous high prices and pay my way thru skool engineering school. haha yea so ej1 sleeper suk nutz
Folks,
We have a '91 crx SI (once had air conditioning) with D-16zc or perhaps z6-hard to tell on block? We took car to Best Buy to purchase and install new radio; they didn't do as Honda says and run a new ground wire, which then burned harness...
We have tried 3 other harnesses, none of which will fire motor. We are told an
OBD-1 conversion from OBD-0 wiring conversion will cure our problem? We will be happy to buy this kit, upon recommendations-advice of what we need-should do?
Thanks,
Chris Sutton

boy, this is excellent reference...for myself, I am working on D-16 A6 wiring..
which is different.
I need help im doing my first swap a d16z6 in a 1990 civic dx its a bare shell no engine no trans no ecu can i use a z6 engine harness and a obd0-obd1 jumper harness for the ecu?
No. You don't use the z6 harness unless you are fantastic at wiring. It won't plug into the firewall connectors and you will have to repin everything correctly.
You get the engine harness for the chassis you have and modify as needed. If you have a DX then you need a DX harness, etc

Wow. Since when is it a good idea to hack off a complete connector where your engine harness mates to the chassis harness.
I am dumbfounded by these idots.

Are the pins the same? I mean, my harness is soldered together all over the place. To be honest, the best idea would be to pull the pins and re crimp appropriate connectors on them all. And if you needed to extend a wire (TPS in a lot of cases), run completely new, solid, wires.
But we don't do that. So what is the harm in cutting another connector?

Majority of the pins are the same. But the seals are different. Obd0 pkugs use bigger seals. So you will have to trim them down, if they are dried and hard like 90% of them are, to make them fit.
You got me lost. I've always called the little metal connectors pins. I meant change those to whatever size is required to plug into the OBD1 plastic plugs.
