Default ITR differential? strength/fitment?

whats up guys....... just picked up a S80 out of a 2000 integra GSR USDM.... I'm rocking an LS motor....soon to be boosted.... and I want some goodies before I put the tranny in the car.... Obviously LSD is a must. I am wondering about putting a ITR differential in my tranny..... Can this be done? is there any modification that would have to be done....

I do like the fact that the Mfactory diff holds up to 1000hp.... I will be no where near that... probably around 250whp...... does anyone know what kind of power/torque the ITR differential will hold? I dont want to put it in and blow it apart.

The itr diff is great bang for the buck. They are well made and I have personally installed them in several turbo cars making 500hp. I have yet to see one break. They are also a direct drop into your gsr trans as long as you have the right bearings. If you use the enclosed ball bearing and shim it correctly its an easy job.

thanks.... so there are different bearings between GSR trans/ITR trans? I take it you are talking about the bearing in the case that the diff sits on?

so I did a little research..... GSR trans final drive is 4.400 and ITR is 4.785.....

I would just need to install the GSR ring gear on the ITR diff?

USDM type r is 4.4, as is 96 and 97 jdm type r.

98+ spec jdm type r is 4.78

The type r lsd will bolt right to your ring gear.
