Hi everyone. I am having some more issues with my car. When I take slight turns, I hear a somewhat loud squealing noise from under the hood. Looking under the hood I find what looks and smells like to be power steering fluid. It is being flung around by the belts. Is this my power steering pump going bad or the rack and pinion failing? If I am not providing enough info please let me know! There also aren't any obvious places of where it is coming out...
Because when you are turning, you are putting a load on the pump. More load, the harder the belt works. unless it's slippery, in which case it will squeal. Fix the p/s leak and the problem will go away.
Or that it's just loose. Usually with fluid on the ribbs will make the noise go away like spraying it with water to diagnose which belt it is making the squealing noise is what most techs do.
