Stock muffler on skunk2 exhaust
I got a fix it ticket for my skunk 2 exhaust. I want to also change it to the stock exhaust. Tired of the loud sound even with the silencer. My question is, if I get just the muffler and have it welded, will it be still be loud or will it be lower with the skunk 2 pipes still installed?
Whats the diameter on the Skunk2 piping? If it is the 2.36 inch one, then it will be much quieter with the stock muffler welded on. Just be aware that there might be a slight bottleneck in that area.
If it is the 2.5 inch piping, then I would opt out for a chambered Magnaflow muffler with a 2.5 inch inlet. It will be quiet and wont sacrifice any significant performance.

I'm not so sure if this is gonna work out so well.
My GSR I got recently, the previous owner had custom 2.25" exhaust piping put on the car with the stock muffler at the end.
The car is pretty quiet but you could just hear all the exhaust being restricted at the muffler, every once in a while it builds up so much too a puff of smoke shoots out all at once.
not sure if this is gonna happen to everyone, but this is my current situation. overall, i don't think it's a great idea.
