anyone rebuild there own tranny?
they arn't bad to do, just be very careful and don't forget to get a new filter with it as its not part of the rebuild kit but most of the time they can be rebuilt with new torque converter for about 500 bucks total if you do all the labor
I was going to, but just didn't want to deal with dropping the cradle and removing the trans. I had my trannies rebuilt for $1600 and I didn't even have to touch the van, I figured it was an awesome deal. I rebuild manual trannies (Ls, GSR, Type R), so I don't think that automatic trans is much harder to do, just remember what goes where and take lots of pics for reference.
yes honda autos are much harder to do than a honda manual i can have a full rebuild on a 6 speed done running to running in about 6 hours honda autos take much more time from deburing the valve body and making sure everything is 100% clean and perfect.
