Default Coilover sleeves brand

Does it matter what brand of coilover sleeves I get? I know a brand like skunk2 will give me better performance and quality than lets say the ebay brand. But for example, by buying the ebay brand what downsides or consequences could there be? And if I'm not looking for the best but something that works, with something like coilover sleeves is it safe to go with a cheaper brand?

Well the consequences for going with a cheap brand should be somewhat obvious. Sub-par ride quality, and bad build quality (which could lead to premature failure).

A would go for the Skunk2 ONLY if you cannot get Ground Control sleeves. The Skunk2's are usually rated alright, but are just not as good as the GC's (which you will find are basically the best rated coilover sleeve).

If you go with anything less, you are just wasting time and money. You'd be much better off getting name-brand lowering springs than going with cheap "ebay" coilover sleeves.

ok cool thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'll look into the ground control and skunk2 options for lowering springs also.

Ground Control - just note that they are setup specifically for different struts. For example, I wanted Koni Yellows, but the perch setup is different so I had to go with Illuminas. So make sure you know which of the 3 versions you are getting to be sure it will work w/ the struts.

Very true.

Some sites will ask you which sleeves you want based off of your strut/shock brand, and some won't. So watch where you buy from.
