ah s#!t.... my door handle busted... help!
Tonight I go to unlock my door and I hear a weird "clink" and can't open my drivers side door. I goto the other side and reach in to pull the inside handle and viola, it works. So, what could be wrong if the inside still works? Would it be that one of the rods connected to the latch came loose or broke?? I haven't had the joy of pulling my door panels yet (I do have the Helms), so how difficult is it? I know that some of the things explained in the Helms look super easy but turn out to be a pain in the ARS!!
Thanks for any help!!

I think you're helping your self man, sound like you know the problem, and how to go about fixing it. I was guessing the rods and connecting latches also, but if you could open it from the inside then I doubt its the rods and connecting latches, I'd guess some mechanism broke in the actual exterior handle component.
Its Sunday tomorrow, (or today if you wanna be technical lil bitch) take it off and figure it out, I took off my 5th gen panals without a Helms and I had no problem.

its the door actuater. i think thats how its spelled. but thats the mechinism that allows u to open the door with the handle/
Yeah, I thought I was right about the rod being loose. Popped the door panel right off and clipped it in. Super stupid easy.
