Backfiring on my ls

my car back fires as mores than my cousins turbo car? Is the cause the air fuel sensor on the header?

the O2 sensor?

Backfiring is caused when unburnt gases get into the exhaust system and ignight from the heat.

Backfires or popping? a backfire is like a loud bang and is not normal, the popping however is pretty common and can mean you have an exhaust leak.

was just wondering cuz mines pop when i let off the peddle sometimes and I think it's from a leak would the leak affect my performance?

Thats normal for aftermarket exhausts. It was explained to me why once, but the reason escapes me. It does happen on stock exhaust, but due to the muffling of the exhaust its very hard to hear.
