Default Another cam/valvetrain decision thread-help me out

I've searched and found a good amount of info. I am thinking about getting a set of cams for my freshly rebuilt oem spec GSR/b18c. The motor has type r valve springs and retainers in it right now. I want a mildly aggressive street car, with good performing bolt ons. I was looking at Brian crower stage 2 NA cams, but also thinking about skunk2 stage 2 cams. Would I have to upgrade the valve train to run either of these? I don't plan on revving to much higher then stock. Any advice is appreciated, or other cam suggestions as well.

OEM cams = OEM valvetrain

Aftermarket cams = Aftermarket valvetrain really..really simple concept.

The most you could really get away with would be skunk2 stage 1's, otherwise upgrade the valvetrain. You really should upgrade if you are using anything but oem. People have gotten away with using skunk2 stage 1's with the Itr valvetrain though. I dont recommend it, but people have done it many times.

Lets revise this by putting thought into it. Skunk2 stage 2's are good cams. Use the matching skunk2 springs and retainers though. Supertech valves are crap. They under cut them and they break off frequently causing catastrophic damage to the engine. Endyn has done flow testing and proven that under cutting valves shows no gains. It just makes the valves more prone to breaking. The only after market valves worth any thing are the new skunk2 valves. You you really don't even need after market valves. Flow tests have shown that oem honda valves flow extremely well.

The supertech springs and retainers are great. Snap fit design so no abnormal wear problems.
