Default b16 code 7(tps). new tps, still a code

Finally got past the surging idle of 1k-2k, by replacing the iacv, now i get code 7 (tps). just got a factory new tps, put it on, reset the ecu by pulling the backup fuse from the engine bay, and i still get a cel code 7. I'm stuck..any help? I've also replaced with a known-working sensor map.

Did you calibrate the new TPS?

Check the wiring from the TPS to the ECU and make sure it has continuity.

Make sure the TPS connector gets 5 reference volts from the ECU and check the three TPS wires for a short (or open as mentioned by HondaPartsHero) using a multimeter.

Didn't calibrate the new tps...was hoping it would be a quick fix. I'll have to wait on a multimeter to check voltage.

Found the source of the tps code...there was a loose wire that needed some attention...got rid of the code!!! But now the idle is fine until the engine gets up to normal operating temp and it gets to surging again

Check for vacuum leaks?

I've done that in the past, but it wouldn't hurt to check again. What else would cause surgin idle other than iacv, tps, vacuum, or coolant?

It will idle fine on a cold start is the weirdest thing...and if a red light is long enough it will also go down to factory spec idle.

did you calibrate the TPS? and it should be reading .5v at idle and 4.5-5V at WOT
