running way too rich help!!!
Alright I have an 89 si that has a b16a swap that is running way too rich so rich that when I open the throttle all the way it bogs down and stalls
The set up: b16a stock internals PW0 ecu skunk2 intake manifold skunk2 68 mm throttle body 57 trim turbo kit
What I've tried so far: replaced fuel pressure regulator replaced ecu (swapped it with a known good working PW0 and a known good working pr3) replaced distributor with a brand new one new plug wires and plugs reset timing and replaced timing belt none of that helped so I got fed up and got a b16a from nagasaki motors and swapped the motor out the second motor is doing the same thing so I replaced injector fuel rail got a skunk2 carbon fuel rail put that on swapped fuel pressure regulator with two of my buddies that are good working fuel pressure regulators got a new o2 sensor tried it without the o2 sensor nothing has worked please if you have any ideas I would really appreciate the help because I'm stumped thanks in advance for any help

If it's a firewall mounted map sensor make sure the connection between the intake manifold and the map sensor is free of cracks or holes. Most of the time it's the connection that'll cause the map sensor to tell the car to run rich.
Has it always run rich? Or did it just start happening?

It has always run rich I bought the damn thing for 250$ with a b16a already in it I thought if I went through everything I could find the problem and fix it hahaha guess again I know its rich because of the plumes of black smoke it shoots and the way it sprays fuel out of the exhaust like wet drip on the ground fuel and yes it the timing is set to the 16 degrees advance that is marked on the crank pully thanks for all the replies though I'm sure its something stupid that I'm overlooking so every little bit helps
Heres a weird answer. The hose that goes from the intake to the black can/box next to the oil filter. It is supposed to have a check valve in the middle and a pcv valve on the can end. I bet the 90 deg plastic check valve is broken.
Could be lots of stuff.
Throttle body, tps to name a few. Does it idle high? Did you adjust it down?

Okay sorry I haven't replied been a while since I had time to go up to the garage and work on it I checked the black box everything is fine with it it idles fine and I didn't adjust anything with the idle however I did check the map sensor over again and one of the wires was broken so I rewire it and it seems to run even worse can barely open the throttle before it bogs and stalls any help please I'm about to trade it for a ford :0 lol I would never but please help thanks for any suggestions

Well at this point I think that you are correct looks like the map sensor was sending no signal to the ecu because the wires were cut right at the firewall for the map sensor now that everything is wired up correctly I did check the pwo pinout made sure everything is legitimate from the ecu traced everything back to the sensor the car won't start now it cranks and backfires the plugs are wet with gas and the wires are getting spark the only other thing I did was got a brand new map and throttle body gasket made sure the wires are all legitimateand the car just won't start I did try starting the car with the distributor in different spots advance/retard nothing helps I did fully charge the battery Idk please please help I'm begging lol but kudos on the map idea and thank you for helping me this far I really appreciate it
I would work back over the modifications that have been done since the car was last running, and double double check everything.
If the engine is being flooded with fuel it will definitely have trouble starting. Is there a strong fuel smell from the exhaust?

Not a strong exhaust smell coming from exhaust but like I said injecters are wet with gas when I pull them out so might be flooding but what do I need to do to fix this what could be causing this because I try taking disconnecting the map sensor and starting it that doesn't work the only significant difference I see is that now I have a good map sensor in the car Idk thanks for the replies I really appreciate your time and knowledge
The ecu is throwing a code 6 I have changed the ect sensor a couple of times with good working sensors still throws the code so I'm not sure what that is about still not starting though but even when it was starting it was throwing that code 6 as always thanks for all input
