was this turbo ever over-reved meaning missed a gear....do u have any pics? how much for shipping to 21702? When u say MSD igition does that mean the boost retard or blaster coil or cap and rotor what extacly do u have?

I called the guy up. He said he is selling it because he wants to pay off his credit card.
He also said that he blew his motor with it.

And that he bought it used for $2700 from another dude.

He sounds legit. He was willing to meet me halfway (4 hours drive) for me to check it before I buy it.

sounds like a good deal to me

 

For that price you could replace the entire turbo and still be ahead of what I paid.

 

My only concern in my case is the piping.

Would the 6th gen f-max kits have 100% identical piping with the 5thgen? I know I would neet o buy another manifold but some people are telling me the piping would be different.....

maybe i'm mistaken but i thought the MSD ignition was supposed to retard the boost to prevent detonation..?

 

Its an MSD unit but its not an ignition...it wires in before the ignition.

Yes it uses boost to retard the timing by 0-4 degrees per pound of boost.

 

with the injectors, fuel management, and msd boost retard-i thought that was the whole purpose of getting an FMAX kit..? to prevent detonation..? maybe the shop didn't tune the car right or the kit wasn't tuned at all..??

 

What is this in reference to? He never said hes selling due to detenation issues.

i guess i was mistaken then..? the motor just couldn't handle 10psi..?

I run 10 and 13 psi. Was that kit ever dyno tuned?

 

nah never got a chance to get it dyno, 3 hours away

 

the motor will take 10 psi... daily, someone couldnt drive and or milage is a factor too the motor is strong, not invincible.
