I cracked my 99si front bumper, and the front lip broke in 2 (hit a huge piece of ice ) so I am screwed now. My previously mint car now looks like crap with a broken bumper and no lip. Is there any chance I could find a new bumper + 99-00si lip and not pay out the ***? If OEM Honda is not a possibility, what are my choices? I was told Certafit sucks, and paint will not stick to it so it'll be chipped in a year or less. Any other options? Thanks.

 

if you want the bumper to fit like it came from the factory, you have no other choice than to get one from the dealer. I tried getting a bumper from a OEM sourced online site like Majestic Honda, but they wouldnt ship such a large item, i had to go to the local dealership.

 

search forums i bought my oem bumper of a guy online 60 bucks unpainted in a box or buy a used one as long as the mountings spots are still legit ur golden cuz u will probly have to repaint it no matter what

 

How much did the dealer charge you? Does the 99-00 come with an optional si lip for an additional price?

 

^Dealers charge about $123 for the bumper and $100 for the lip, regardless of trim model.

Only thing that will fit right is OEM. You can try ebay and such but the price will usually just be like $20 off each item and fit like ****. Just gonna have to go OEM or find someone selling genuine OEM off Craigslist and the Marketplace and such.

 

This. And your lucky if 100 bucks is all they charge, as I have heard higher from the dealers around me.

Your cheapest bet will be to find a partout or something, but keep in mind there are a ton of people also looking for a deal on the same parts. Good luck at getting to them first!

^They won't ship a bumper. They'll probably ship the lip though. I just mean to shove it in your fat clerk's face to show them they're thrying to rip you off because it's an "SI" bumper probably. You should ask what an EX bumper is, same thing.

 

I might as well just order an ex bumper. I don't even need the lip, even though it looks naked without it.

 

No, this is what you don't get. The bumper is the same throughout the trims. The difference being the lip which you need to buy separate anyways. I bet your dealer lists the prices of an Ex and Si bumper different, when they're the same thing.
