hey guys i just did a jdm front end swap on my 2001 ls. im having problems with the hood latch the jdm one runs to the passengers side but the line was cut and the usdm hood latch doesnt work because it goes on the inside of the rad support but the old line isnt long enough either. i was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and if they did what did you do?

use the jdm one and get yourself a da hood cable and run it just like the usdm factory. Or for now use the jdm and extend the cut latch and open it thru the bumper
Or you can buy a DA hood latch.. use a USDM cable. I have da latch laying around that I will let go for cheap. Or just use the stock latch.. that runs to the passenger side and relocate it ( help people from stealing your car..)

i was thinking bout doing that but then i have to drill a hole through the fire wall but i think thats what im going to do, thanks guys. also i was wondering about the head light harness, its different than the usdm one and i dont want to splice wires because im afraid of a possible engine fire. i have seen a harness on password jdm specificly for that but they dont have it in stock and dont know when there getting another one in, does anyone have other ideas on what to do or another place to get that harness that incorporates the running lights, blinkers, and side makrers?
the usdm latch and the jdm latch are exactly the same, the way the bolt to the t bracket is just different. usdm one is flip flop and bolts to the inside on the t bracket, and the jdm one bolts to the front of the t bracket.
i extended the usdm line and just looped it around to the passenger side, from the driver side, put a sheet metal screw with a line clamp on the extended cable..
thats how i did my last one, cause i was on a major budget.

Then just splice the wires according to this diagram..

( might be wrong.. i can not see the pictures on work computer)
or just use these but they are not always effective if you don't do it right...

you can get these at any walmart or autzone or ma-pa store.
Hope this helps.

I ran into this problem when I did the front end on my 4dr and I used all the JDM parts and used a cable for a crx hatch relese it was a little long but i routed it along the rad support and it works perfectly fine. I hope this helps, I just used what I had laying around in the garage
