my 94 civic dx coupe likes to idle @ an unusually high rpm @ above 2300 in park like its always cold even when the engine has warmed up and when its in drive it idles @ 2000 when my foot is on the brake and when i let off the brake it starts slowly accelerating all the way up into to 3rd gear on flat ground without me ever touching the gas i have checked the pedal and the throttle cable and it moves just fine. does everybody else civic do this or just mine

 

With the engine idling, if you cover the top of the throttle body with your hand or something else, does the engine die?

 

Did someone adjust your idle screw?

 

Put my hand on the throttle body nothing but It does die shortly after starting but that's cause the main relay right
