Hey wassup fellas, I just got a 89 Civic HB and it has a 93 dx engine in it. The speedo and the fuel gauge does not work? Any Ideas.

 

if you kept the same trany, proly just need a new cable for the speedo,
for the fuel gage run test the wire and you'l be fine to see where the problem is,
only tree solution I see here, Wiring, Gage, or in thank float.

u need the cable VSS..
on that 93 tranny OR.... if its your tranny connect up the VSS cable ( its a simple fix)

 

where is this located and how do i do this?

 

the VSS is located on the top of your tranny
if its your original tranny its a cable VSS and it could possibly be
that the cable isnt plugged in..or isnt plugged in correctly..

if you have the 93 dx tranny it comes with a electrinic VSS and you have to
change that out for the cable VSS for your speedo to worl

damn dude, sounds like my car, i got a 88 HB DX with a 94 DX motor in iot and my gas guage and my temp. guage dont work, but ive been too lazy to figure out what the problem was, and nobody knew so i didnt mess with it but im sure if you ran a test wire you could figure it out, then you have to get a speedo cable that is for the tranny you have i dont think stock will fit

 

I know, bad luck we got huh? Lol well i'll be checking it tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes. One!
