Need help or wiring diagram for 98 Civic stereo
I need a wiring diagram for the stock radio in a 1998 honda civic hatchback dx. I recently bought a new headunit and I need to depin/repin the new connectors. Unless someone else knows an easier way to do this.
This is my first time changing a headunit on any vehicle amazingly. hah.
Both connectors are NOT the same either.

....so you bought an aftermarket headunit or a stock one? If it's an aftermarket, get one of those radio harness (Metra) from your local Walmart. If you're trying to install a factory Honda/Acura radio, Metra has car harness wires as well....
DO NOT CUT THE FACTORY RADIO PLUG . You will regret it later.

Ya, I guess I'll have to do that or hit up Fry's. Walmart didn't have the right one, only for BOSE headunits. Wish this wasn't so stupid, gotta make **** more plug & play.

DO NOT cut or de-pin anything. I've been using these for 15+ years.

OK here goes... 98 Civic, removed radio, took radio apart, desoldered "incremental mechanical rotary encoder"...pot was so much easier to refer to a volume control back in the day!
Five pins. Two pins (momentary on/off) one side, Three pins opposite side + two anchor pins middle. ALPS & JAPAN only words stamped backside of switch. Circuit board has VR401 where that part goes to but no part #. Where/Who can I talk to to obtain this little bit of "hell"

Before the eyelids close...could someone post wiring schematic (the guts...inside) for AM/FM 98 Civic. Hope voltage/amp max loads are included for the volume control (i.m.r. encoder) Thanks...Les Paul
Dont know if you noticed this but this thread is almost a year old, you should just start your own thread instead of bringing them back
