d16z6 and d16y8: Are the pistons the same?
between the two motors the c/r stock is .4 difference and the d16y8 has the higher compression at 9.6:1, what is the c/r of the pistons you have

i do not want to comment on aftermarket pistons, but...
stock, the pistons are different, yes.
however, if you took a stock z6 and solely swapped the pistons with those from a y8, you'd see a negligible bump in compression, about .15 points.
keep in mind the combustion chamber between both heads is different in shape and volume. the y8 head has a combustion chamber that is almost 2cc smaller...
if i were you, using aftermarket pistons, i'd use this and pay special attention to the note underneath the piston to deck height section - http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/dcalc.htm

wouldn't what give you less compression? i'm not following what you mean.
and honestly it is simple with that link i sent you to find out exactly what your compression will be using any combo of parts and whatever pistons, even aftermarket. the only thing you need are the specs of the pistons from wiseco (actually only the compression height to verify the piston to deck clearance)
