I have a eg civic with a full b16 swap.
What would be the best way to run in the mid 13s at the track without killing the reliability of the motor

50 shot zex kit properly installed should get you there, and if it dont, some driver mod is needed. contrary to popular belief, n2o wont hurt your engine as long as its set up and used properly.
I think with just a B16 you would barely even brake into the 14s in stock trim.
As stated, you staying N/A or going FI?

i have seen quite a few b16s with simple bolt ons go mid 14s in coupes and hatches. a 50shot will typically shave anywhere from half to a full second off of the et depending on driver, car set up when you spray, ect. the track your at and conditions at it can play a decent role also. im always at least 2 tenths faster at mir than i am at masson dixon.

Build your own B16B: CTR cams/pistons/LSD/IM/TB. I knew a guy back then about 8 years ago. He had this set up on (b16a SiR2) and ran low 14s(14.1-14.3) consistently with street tires in a 92-95 Si h/b. With stage 2 cams and/or head work, 13's there and for sure with slicks. I don't know how reliable a turbo set up could be.
