Where should the distributor timing be set?

Default Where should the distributor timing be set?

Obviously a timing light is needed, and I would tend to think every motor is different with timing? So a B18C-R or B18C5. Set it to 0° or advance it a few? What should I do to have it properly running and not damaging anything?

Stock 16 degrees
