Who is running Energy Suspension Trailing arm bushings?Help
I bought the Energy Suspension bushings for the rear trailing arms and something just doesn't seem right. There are no directions w/ them either. All the box says is to use all old metal hardware. But still doesn't look right. The center hole looks to small and they enclosed 2 metal sleeves that will definately not fit on the peice that bolts to the car. Please help w/ pics if possible. Thanks to everyone who helps.
I bought them to use on my Teg trailing arms and I have no idea how you would get these in there, it makes no sense to me either.
Have them on my 89 CRX Si and it is not a lot of fun putting them in. Actually, my fabricator (ITA builder) did it and he had to take the arms off the car to remove the old bushings. You have to get the center pin out and clean off all the rubber stuck to it and cut the rubber out of the shell. Once everything is clean the new bushings slide in without a lot of fanfare. A press would be nice. If you are going this far, get a set for the lower control arms too as this will definitely tighten things up. Don't do any others until you are certain that you need them-the front can bind on road courses-so rubber is better there except for the radius rods and sway bars.
Good luck

just some helpful hints.use a torch if you can it speeds things up a lot.also if you have a high speed grinder get a wire wheel i thinkit;s a 3 inch.clean the whole thing out.do the same on the pin.to get teh metal halves out of the arms use a screwdriver and hammer and go down about 1/2 inch deep all the way on both sides, then usually they are ready to come out.take your time.once it's all cleaned up i just use a big vise and a freind to press them in and use plenty of grease.to put in the pins,i set the arm on the gorund push the pin in slightly then stand on it.with enough grease it wil just slide in.it will strighten it self out when it is bolted on to the car.
Turns out the bushings were boxed wrong. Went back to where I bought them and the correct set will be here tommorrow. Thanks again, you guys did help alot.
